The Museum, born in 2004 and set up in the alleys of the suggestive ancient village of Casalciprano, represents a real journey through time to discover the tools of the rural tradition accompanied by contemporary sculptures and paintings. A part of the itinerary also develops inside restored houses used as exhibition rooms and this contributes to make the visit even more pleasant and welcoming.

The most distinctive type of landscape is Piva Lake, 42 km long, with a volume of 800 million m3 of water, which flooded the old settlement of Pluzine. It was created by building a hydroelectric power plant, ie. by building a concrete arch dam near Mratinje, which is 220m high and is one of the highest dams of that type in the world.

The majestic Baroque cathedral, with its archaeological-museum itinerary - the Romuald Museum - set up in its basement, together with the Diocesan Museum, provide a historical journey into the faith and art of Monopoli, an active city on the Adriatic.
