Ulcinj Salina is a semi-natural wetland which belongs to the group of the largest salt pans in the Mediterranean. The Ulcinj saltworks is the most exclusive habitat for bird watching in the Adriatic, the Balkans and the entire Mediterranean. In 2018, the Ulcinj Salina was protected at the national level and has the status of a nature park, while in 2019 it was declared a swamp of international importance - the Ramsar area.
