It is located in the meander of the river Zeta, below the hill that dominates a large part of the Bjelopavlicka plain. Its first historical mention refers to the stay of King Tvrtko "under Spuz in Zeta" in 1379. However, there is information that indicates that the "town of Spuz" existed around 1114.
