Benje is around 13 km away from the center of Permet.  The name “Benje” originated from the word “spa”, from which the nearby village of Benje also takes its name.  It is known since ancient times, these sulfur springs, which emerge from deep rifts in the earth, stem from different sources on both sides of the Lengarice Canyon; those on the left side have lower temperatures than those on the right. Each source possesses different therapeutic properties for curing skin diseases, ailments of the stomach, kidney, rheumatism etc. The sources of the thermal water are natural and flow at different rates into beautiful small pools where it is possible to gather the thermal mud, which is suitable for skin treatments. There is a beautiful Ottoman bridge at the entrance of the thermal water area marking the beginning of the canyon. The area has been inhabited since ancient times and is known for its numerous thermal springs which collect in stone baths and form natural pools for bathing and relaxing. The Benja Thermal Waters have a temperature of 26 - 32 grade Celsius. This place, surrounded by an unpolluted environment, presents a unique mix of history, adventure and nature.
