The Teatro Cittadino of Noicattaro was founded t in the early 19th century. Because of its size it is considered the smallest Italian-style theater in the world.

The Community Theater of Noicattaro is considered the smallest Italian-style theater in the world. It was built in the early 19th century in an area where there was an 18th-century underground oil mill, called the Trappeto del Carmine.

It is a hidden gem of Italian art, exemplifying how culture can be expressed in any and all kinds of community spaces, as has been the case with the Theater of Noicattaro which has been through many ups and downs over time, through alternating phases of splendor and neglect, until completion of the latest restoration that restored this symbol of the art of Puglia to its original splendor
