A monastery includes the churches of the Assumption of the Virgin and St. Trinity. In the monastery complex there was a third church, dedicated to St. Stefan, whose rise is connected to Tsar Dusan.
According to the legends, the monastery was built on the site of a pagan temple with a cemetery. The first written information about the monastery is from the 15th century.
