Palazzo Roberti Alberotanza stands in the centre of Mola di Bari, in the large Piazza XX Settembre. It is also known as the 'Palazzo delle Cento camere' (One Hundred-Room Palace) due to its numerous rooms, as it originally consisted of forty-eight rooms, a very large number at the time (hence the hyperbole in its name), distributed between the main floor and the second floor.
The palace is a remarkable architectural example of Neapolitan Baroque in Puglia, its original configuration was an 'island palace', which enabled it to dominate the heart of Mola.
