It was built at the end of the 18th century by Hadzi Mehmed Pasha Osmanagic, the same one who built the Clock Tower and decorated the streets of Stara Varos with pebbles. The exact year of construction is unknown. It was also known as the Lukacević mosque, because, according to the tradition, it was maintained by the Lukacevic family.
