Villa Zappone is located within the archaeological park including the Roman amphitheater and the ancient spa.
Owned by Filomeno Zappone, it is a building dating back to the early twentieth century, beautiful and elegant, characterized by a classical setting influenced by a Neapolitan liberty.
In 1994 the State exercised its right of pre-emption over the Villa and the adjacent Park. The excavation works of the latter brought to light a beautiful mosaic and the remains of an imposing thermal complex of the Roman age. Today, together with the Roman remains, the stables and the laundry are visible. In the stables it is possible to admire a perfectly preserved sewer conduit that probably fed the waters of the baths. The material that emerged during the excavations was used to make up the floor of the entrance hall, a fireplace and the elegant floor of the Library. The main door, as well as the closet located in the stables and the ceiling of the dining room, have the initials "FZ" of the founder.
