Frosolone lived and lives with the working of scissors and knives even if the typology of the production has been modified in time. These objects have always invaded the national market, even if with greater intensity the southern regions. Currently they are heading with good results also abroad where they are appreciated for their precision, cut and tradition.

Frosolone lived and lives with the working of scissors and knives even if the typology of the production has been modified in time. These objects have always invaded the national market, even if with greater intensity the southern regions. Currently they are heading with good results also abroad where they are appreciated for their precision, cut and tradition. One area that remained unexplored after the massive advent of the machine and automation, even in this type of work, is that which prefers the product worked completely by hand and therefore also forged. These are passionate customers who, even if in a very small number compared to the masses who use scissors and knives for daily functions, are still willing to pay a very high price and certainly remunerative of the hours of work required by the craftsman. For economic reasons, this path was not taken on a massive scale by the local craftsman who lived practically by the day and could not afford to cultivate and wait for the subsequent fruits of such a national and international market. Opened for the first time in 1997 and renovated in 2005, the museum was created with the intention of handing down the technique of forging and craftsmanship of scissors and knives, through a collection of objects of historical value, recovered among collectors and heirs of the best workers of scissors and knives of the local area of the last century, and a series of military cutting blades donated by the superintendencies of many Italian regions, for a total of over 400 pieces on display. In addition to the traditional showcases that can be seen along the museum's itinerary, two workshops have been set up inside the same room: the first is characterized by the presence of period tools that evoke the steel working systems of the late nineteenth century, the second showcases modern industrial machinery that illustrate the techniques of serial production.
