Palazzo Pistilli, declared of historical-artistic interest in 1996, rises in the highest part of the ancient nucleus of Campobasso along the salita di San Bartolomeo, so called because of the presence of the Romanesque church of the same name further up. Dating back to 1783, the palace was built by the Pistilli family, of which we have news from the sixteenth century. It rises close to the cloistered building of S. Croce del Battente that separates it from San Bartolomeo and it is perched on a small terrace obtained to easily connect the access of the palace to the steps that lap it and that climb in the changing medieval urban fabric of Campobasso.
It has two floors and six cozy rooms where the art collections of Giuseppe Ottavio Eliseo and Michele Praitano, donated to the state in 2012 and 2014 respectively, are displayed.
A museum to immerse yourself in the history of art. A cozy and relaxing environment that allows you to exalt works that are part of a collection once private, now public at the behest of the owners.
