On the summit of Monte Mauro, at 1042 m, a modern astronomical observatory is installed, equipped with the most advanced robotic telescope currently present in Italy, the CRT, which represents the state of the art in the sector. The astronomical observatory is dedicated to Father Boccardi, who led the way in anticipating what are only now (the last 20 years) the processes of verification and cataloguing of the best astronomical sites and the installation of professional instruments in optimal sites as in the case, then, of the Pino Torinese observatory. Designed and built by the company ATEC Robotics, the observatory stands out from the standard for a series of fundamental peculiarities

- it is innovative and at the forefront internationally

- it allows scientific research to be carried out also in robotic mode (CCD photometry)

- it allows private individuals to use the telescope on the Internet by booking observation time

- supports the dissemination of information in schools and universities through dedicated projects

- It is part of the network of telescopes that map debris during the day.

- enables automatic surveys and is equipped for rapid gamma ray burst acquisition

- it is a centre for high-level research, development and innovation and support for scientific activities

- it is a conference centre for innovative topics in the fields of knowledge

- enables schools, universities and research centres to use the telescope remotely

- is part of the Magellan network.
