Risorgenza del Vomero - Grotta del Diavolo

The little church of Santa Lucia della Posta, called "Posticchia", is a chapel located along the great Tratturo Regio Celano-Foggia, in Agro di Agnone. That it is a trattural chapel denotes, inside, the presence of various statues of saints, related to the tradition of transhumance, in particular, the icon of St. Michael the Archangel. On the last Sunday of June the apparition of the Saint from Syracuse is celebrated. There is a story related to the construction of the church. It is said that a rich lord of Apulia walked along the current road San Mauro - Pietrabbondante, in the company of his blind daughter. At a certain moment, the daughter pointed out to her father a point where, she said, she had seen appearing Santa Lucia, protector of sight. It seems that the Saint was right above a tree, smiling. The girl regained her sight and her father, out of devotion, erected the little church where the miracle is said to have happened.
