Rana e Hedhun (Thrown Sand), is a nice spot Sand-Dune located in North-Western Albania, just 40Km from Montenegro border. It started to be frequented as a beach only after the 90s. Before it was a military zone where no one was allowed to go. This beach with a 3 km coastline is one of the most sought-after areas and almost all the beaches are privately managed by tourist operators. The public area is just the coastline near the “Rana e Hedhun” nature monument, from which the whole area takes its name. “Rana e Hedhun” does not attract mass tourism and there are not many hotels. The beach can be reached on foot and by “climbing the dune” someone can take amazing pictures.
