The Clock Tower in Kavaje, which is one of the oldest cultural monuments with an age of about 200 years, now has a revived appearance, transforming into a worthy object for local and foreign visitors. This revival of one of the most dominant buildings of the city of Kavaja was made possible by the restoration project designed by the Institute of Cultural Monuments and financed by TIKA. The Clock Tower was built during the 19th century, in the bazaar square on the hill at the highest point of the city to dominate not only the bazaar but also the whole city. The tower forms an ensemble as it is surrounded by the mosque and in the lower part by the old bazaar. It is made of pumice stones and accompanied by carvings. In the part inside it there are a pair of wooden stairs, while in its upper part there is also a sundial that previously worked accompanied by the sound of the bell. The tower stands out for its architectural values and the ornamental decoration created by the white and green stones.
