Ebu Bkr Mosque located in Shkodra city, its official name is the Sheik Zamil Abdullah Al-Zamil Mosque and is commonly known from the locals as the Great Mosque. It was built from 1994 – 1995 on the site of the old historic mosque Fushe Çela an Ottoman Mosque; designed (funding from Saudi entrepreneur Sheikh Zamil Abdullah Al-Zamil) by ARC Architectural Consultants and destroyed during the communist era. The Fushe Çela mosque was historically important in the scholarly learning of the city and attracted notable Islamic scholars and theologians. The inauguration was held on 27 October 1995, and renovated in 2008.

The Mosque has a modern structure inspired by Ottoman mosques dating from the 16th century. It covers 622.72 square metres (6,702.9 sq ft) and can accommodate 1,300 worshipers. The minaret is 41.11 metres (134.9 ft) high and the dome stretches to 24 metres (79 ft). Its minarets are tall enough and are a convenient point of reference for finding a way through the city.   

The mosque had a famous Madrasa, or religious school, at its heyday that drew Muslim scholars from all over the world.
