The fortress above Kotor, in which the natural features of the rocky terrain are interspersed with stone walls, bastions, towers, paths, stairs and church buildings, is one of the most characteristic expressions of architecture created by centuries of symbiosis of human activities and pristine nature. The greatest works were carried out by the Venetian Republic in 18th century. The Venetian style of construction is lower ramparts and reinforcement of walls with different materials, so that they can withstand the impact of artillery.
