Museo della Memoria Contadina a Casalciprano

The Museum, born in 2004 and set up in the alleys of the suggestive ancient village of Casalciprano, represents a real journey through time to discover the tools of the rural tradition accompanied by contemporary sculptures and paintings. A part of the itinerary also develops inside restored houses used as exhibition rooms and this contributes to make the visit even more pleasant and welcoming. Each stage of the entire itinerary is dedicated to a specific theme with objects, costumes, original photographic and paper documents of rural life, as evidence of a past that was, illustrated by special information panels that describe the history and characteristics. The museum aims to imprint in the memory some of the most important and representative moments of rural life, through an interesting journey through the streets of the village. It is a series of statues, tools and pictorial decorations, arranged along the streets of the historic center, each referring to a particular moment of rural life. Women intent on washing clothes at the fountain, children playing at stealing flags, rooms in which scenes of daily life have been recreated, from the setting to the costumes of the characters, from the ancient tools used for the harvest or the grape harvest, and more. All explained on elegant hand-painted ceramic books. Some of the major emerging Italian painters, have created fascinating paintings on the facade of eight houses, made available by their owners. The decorations are perfectly integrated into the path with various scenes recreated, a fusion of innovation and tradition.
