Prenjas Mine

The towers of Prrenjas, indicators of the history of this city, for many years offered the sad sight of ruins. Eljan Tanini is the artist who would "conquer" them with Easter brides and bring them back to passers-by with a different look. In the two towers of the former iron-nickel mine at the entrance to the city, a total of 1380 Easter brides have been painted...

Whoever has passed through Prrenjas once, has noticed in an area of this city, by the highway that leads to Pogradec and Korçë, two tall towers and several buildings destroyed under their feet. It used to be the Iron-Nickel mine in Prrenjas, today it is an abandoned and lifeless place. But for a few days it is no longer like that! More than a thousand Easter brides have "conquered" these towers, making everyone turn their heads from these buildings that previously did not offer any pleasure to the eye. The artist Eljan Tanini thought that these towers in Prrenjas would have a different appearance and apparently he succeeded. He worked for 22 days painting more than 1300 Easter brides. It was not easy for Tanin to stay on the pier for hours in the gray towers of this city, painting these red and black beetles that give another color to the area, turning them, why not, into objects that can be visited by tourists.

Eljani will not stop only at the towers of Prrenjas.
