The St. Anne’s Synagogue Museum, in the heart of Trani’s Jewish neighbourhood, is proof of the Jewish community’s presence in the town, and is one of the symbols of the area’s vibrant social and cultural scene.

The St. Anne’s Synagogue Museum stands in the heart of Trani’s Jewish neighbourhood, where the Great Synagogue once stood, which was built in 1247 and turned into a Catholic church with the Angevin dynasty in the late XIII century.

The building has maintained the same name it has had for the past five hundred years, namely Saint Anne, and has become a museum that bears witness to the contact between the peoples and cultures at the heart of Trani’s long history.
