The village appears below, as you drive down the national road that leads to Pogradec. This small peninsula softly joins the shores of Lake Ohrid. It was once called “Lake of Light” perhaps because the light of both the sun and the moon wholly illuminate its surface year-round. Lin is today a picturesque village of Lake Ohrid shore. Its population is in equal shares both Muslim and Christian. Next to each other stand the church and the mosque. The visitors here can see a miniature of the Balkans: peaqceful Balkans. Fishing for men and engaging in animal farming for women are the main occupation. Houses made of stone and bricks on the sides of the narrow streets shadowed with grapes and they are next to each other on the lakeshore and are friendly. The area has a few restaurants and simple hotels. In Albania, Lin is known not only for its beauty but also for its history. Of particular interest is the southern tip of the peninsula. It is not inhabited. This offers the possibility to relax on a pristine sandy beach which can be reached through a few pleasant gardens.
