The Church of St. Nicholas is located in the local cemetery in Nikoljac, near Bijelo Polje. Historical sources do not record the time of construction of the church, but according to the results of archaeological research, it can be inferred that it was built immediately after the renewal of the Pec Patriarchate in 1557.
As part of the archaeological research conducted in 2009 and 2010, numerous material remains were discovered in the layer of earth under the floor of the church and in the earth that represents the filling of graves. 22 metal coins were found, 14 of which belonged to Vuk Branković, and 8 to Lazar Hrebeljanović or his son Stefan Lazarević, who lived in the 14th century.
