Faeto is a small village in the Monti Dauni of about 600 inhabitants. It constitutes, together with Celle San Vito, the only Franco-Provençal minority in southern Italy.

Faeto is the second highest town in Puglia, with an altitude of 820 m above sea level, and is located a stone's throw from Monte Cornacchia which is the highest peak in the region.

For this reason, from the village you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama: from the Gargano promontory to the gulf of Manfredonia, from the Monti Dauni to the plain of the Tavoliere delle Puglie.

Behind the village lies the Bosco di Faeto with its 150 hectares of beech, oak and deciduous trees, dotted with picturesque windmills and mineral water springs with diuretic and curative properties, including the San Vito spring, the Fountain of Coppi and the Fountain of "Sciurtone".
