Castelpagano stands on a rocky spur more than 500 metres above sea level, 8 km from the town of Apricena.
It is an ancient settlement, now in a state of ruins, with a castle, -standing at the highest point of the plateau-, a sacred area, also used as a necropolis, and a settlement stretching along the ridge.
From Castelpagano visitors are offered one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the region: from the top of the hill it is possible to admire a landscape spanning as many as three regions, Puglia, Molise and Campania.
