The "MuFeG" Community Museum of the Feast of Wheat is located at the "Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie" and documents the deep bond that the Jelsese community has with the Feast of Wheat, which has been celebrated for over 200 years every 26th July in honour of Saint Anne. The museum is dedicated to the splendour of carts made of wheat, an activity which, over time, has given rise to a Tradition that dates back a long way and which today transforms into art the ancient desire of the faithful to pay homage to the Saint by staging various representations of carts and works made of wheat. The MuFeG is a museum with a rich documentation and variety of exhibits. The visitor can retrace the history of the festival and all the stages of wheat processing, from the grain to the ear, travelling through documents, paintings, photographs, videos and displays of floats made in the past.
The MuFeg is a museum that contributes to the consolidation of the tradition of peasant work with the land and grain, with the aim of transmitting the suggestiveness of the floats over the four seasons, so that the extraordinary and magical feeling of the period of St. Anne is spread and repeated constantly throughout the year. The museum's activities of conservation, fruition, research and laboratory are carried out within the museum, aimed at individuals, groups and schools, also through the construction of educational paths on specific themes.
