Like all the castle structures, also the one of Pesche, now reduced to the state of ruins, presents shreds of architectural elements that reveal a series of changes and adaptations occurred over time and that are not easily identifiable in their temporal location.
In the highest part of the inhabited area, taking advantage of the natural conformation of the rock that presents a steep descent on the western side and a less steep degradation on the opposite side, remain the signs of an apical structure that, taking up the form of an irregular pentagon, should correspond to a donjon.
The rectilinear walls lean directly on the rock and what survives is just enough to understand that the facade facing west, for the fact of being on the less accessible side, does not present signs of openings or loopholes. On the other hand, at the point of attack of the wall that rejoins the city walls, one can clearly see the cut of an oblique slit in such a way as to guarantee an almost grazing shot at the wall in the direction of a presumable postern positioned on the northern side towards the mountain. On this point converges also a second slit with an underlying circular patch, obtained in the wall face of the section that connects the castle to the first of the circular towers along the outer line of the city walls, of which we will speak later.
