During more than 700 years of the Franciscan presence in Boka, from Herceg Novi to Kotor, there were as many as 16 Franciscan stations excluding temporary hospices or three monasteries in the area of Budva. The 21 century in Boka was welcomed by only one Franciscan monastery, the Kotor monastery of St. Clare.
