Culture specialists in Vlora say that more attention should be paid to the "Justin Godard" museum street, the area from where the independence flag was paraded over 100 years ago. On this street is also the house of Marigo Posio, the embroiderer of the Independence flag.
The collapse of a characteristic building over 100 years old in Vlora has raised the alarm about the abandonment of the historical center of the coastal city.
It is about the "Justin Godard" museum complex, the street from where the flag of independence was paraded over a century ago.
The Cultural Monuments Specialist, Novruz Bajrami, explains that intervention in this area has been requested for years. Novruz Bajrami: The Directorate of Cultural Monuments and the Ministry of Culture only have the facades of these buildings, monuments, in preservation and maintenance and care, both from the technical side and also from the historical side. So it is not a separate monument of the "Justin Godard" complex, but it is part of the facade, or a building that is part of the Cultural Monument. It is the entire "Justin Godard" street, which was built from the 19th century, continued in the 20th century to the present day. Citizens demand its return to identity to receive the attention it deserves.
